If you’ve had your fill of lounging on the beach, hit the streets of Cala Millor for some shopping. The promenade that runs along the beach is lined with stores; here, you can visit a beach shack for sand toys, towels, swimsuits, and other summer necessities. Souvenir shops sell typical Majorcan keepsakes to bring home.
Just behind the beach promenade is a pedestrian zone filled with even more shops that sell clothes, leather goods, and various knick-knacks. Majorca is known for its leather, and handbags and sandals are popular items to purchase here. Look for some of the famous blown-glass pearls created in Manacor, which hard to distinguish from the real thing. Majorca is also famous for figurines and other handicrafts carved from olive wood or local pines.
The main shopping drag in Cala Millor is Passeig Cristofol Colom. Here you can treat yourself to clothes, perfume, and finer leather handbags. Take home a handmade lace tablecloth or a bottle of Rioja to remember the island. If the shops here aren’t upscale enough for your taste, head to the northern end of the beach boulevard, where you’ll find designers such as Dolce and Gabbana.
If you’re really interested in authentic Majorcan handicrafts, wait until a Thursday evening in the summer, when Cala Millor has its own market from 5-8 pm. You can buy authentic Majorcan wares like handmade lace and leather bags. The goods are much more genuine than what you will find in the typical souvenir store.
