Fornells is a nice town located on the northern coast of Menorca.

The authentic fishing village of Fornells is preferred for its water sports, fishing, fantastic food and its being pace and quiet.

This small fishing harbor falls within the Mercadal municipal area and lies in the shadow of the 17th century Castle of San Antonio.

The bay of Bahía de Fornells begins a stretch of shoreline which knows no escape from the tramontane wind. The entire area is designated as a nature reserve and is the perfect place for nautical sports.

The harbor of Fornells is popular for its restaurants worthy of its lobster bouillabaisse. The restaurants here are fantastic and worth visiting. Caldereta de langosta is the famous dish not to be missed. It is a lobster stew made with peppers, onion, tomato, garlic and herb liqueur.

As for the beaches in Fornells; Cala Tirant beach is the most popular one. Also the Cavalleria and Farragut beaches which are covered in reddish sand are highly recommended for bathing.
